**This is a six-month contract role with the potential to be a permanent team member for the right candidate.

 

Who are you?

As a Store Manager at Comor – Go Play Outside, you are empowered to create and lead a dynamic, successful, and passionate retail bike and ski shop team. You are a key member of the operational group that reports to the General Manager. As part of this group, your contributions are critical to the success of the business.

 

Essential Job Functions

Through recruitment, education, and motivation, you will be expected to lead, support, and maintain an enthusiastic staff that understands what it means to provide a fantastic customer experience.  You will lead by example.

You will guide the direction of the store based on insight, industry trends and historical data, as well as your + years of experience in a business-focused retail environment. Your goal is to produce a successful and profitable store that can continue to thrive and add value. You must be able to enthusiastically achieve the following:

  • Manage and lead a team of up to 10 staff & key holders (hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, etc.)
  • Oversee the merchandising and presentation of products, ensuring that the store is clean, visually appealing, well-organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Receive merchandise shipments and ensure that they are accurately recorded in our POS (Lightspeed)
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and facilitate product knowledge sessions.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales, improve customer experience, and achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure that all store policies and procedures are followed, and that staff members are trained to handle customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with other managers and buyers within the company to ensure that all business objectives are met including sale preparation for any sales events during the contract period.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure that the store is compliant with all OH&S regulations.
  • Show a commitment to loss prevention through consistent security practices.
  • Monitor inventory and cash handling to ensure compliance and minimize shrink.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
  • Continuously searching for ways to improve all aspects of our store, no status quo!

 

Qualifications

The Store Manager will have a passion and love for bikes and for cycling.  You ski or board too?  Bonus! You are a leader and motivator who thrives on achieving goals and is enthusiastic about mentoring others to achieve success. You are excited for the opportunity to be the person who creates something AMAZING while building/ maintaining a team of exceptional coworkers that you are proud to call teammates. On a functional level, you will bring with you the following skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience in the retail industry, with a proven history of success.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage your team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the store's performance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of bike products and trends; you are also active in the sport yourself.
  • Knowledge of ski/ snowboard products is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field is preferred but not required. Transferrable experience matters as well.

 

Physical Requirements

All managers are required to meet the standard physical requirements of all roles at Comor – Go Play Outside with a few additions:

  • Operate office equipment.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods up to an entire work shift
  • Bend, lift, open, and move products and fixtures up to 50 pounds.
